Finding Hope in the Wilderness
“"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Will bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfort to her. I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there, As in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.” (Hosea 2:14-15)
God uses the wilderness expressly for the redemption of our hope. Achor is the valley outside of Jericho where Achan was judged for touching the cherem, the thing devoted to the Lord. Achor is the place of trouble. It is when we are in trouble that we truly need a redemption, a hope. Our covenant marriages are a devoted thing unto the Lord and God uses the wilderness times in our lives to redeem that which was holy, reserved for Him. The gate of hope is the place of miracles where our visions and dreams can truly come to pass.
